With the trade deadline looming The St. Louis Blues sent Paul Stastny to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for prospect Erik Foley, a lottery protected 2018 first-round pick and a conditional 2020 fourth round pick.
In addition the Blues will retain 50 percent of Stastny’s remaining contract.

Foley, 20, was drafted 78th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2015. The 6’0, 185-pound forward has dressed in 32 games for Providence College this season, posting 34 points.
“It’s tough, it’s emotional. Theres been a lot going on in my head for the last 20 hours or whatever. It’s tough leaving these guys. When I look on paper I see how quality of a team [Winnipeg] they are, if I can be a piece for them for a long extended run,” Stastny said.
Stastny has been one of the lone productive players serving as a the teams top line centerman, especially on face-offs. Stastny registered 40 points for the Blues this season, fourth most behind Brayden Schenn, Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz.
