Schnucks High School Athlete of the Week – Vote Now!

Each week, KFNS will nominate five area players to be voted on for our weekly High School Athlete of the Week award presented by Schnucks.

The winner will receive a plaque and short video tribute produced by Hanna Yates and the KFNS digital team, which will appear on 590thefan.com Monday afternoon.

This week’s nominees are:

Nathan George – Hazelwood Central – George currently ranks 3rd in the St. Louis area in batting average leaders after having 2 hits and 1 RBI in 2 AB’s against Ladue last week.

Isaiah Martin – Hillsboro Track & Field – Martin placed 1st in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.99 and in the 300 Int hurdles with a time of 40.49 in the Festus Early Bird Invitational on March 24th. These times put Martin at first place in both races in the St. Louis area, helping Hillsboro take home 6th place in the invitational.

Alyssa Obermeyer – Parkway West Lacrosse –  Obermeyer ranks second in the St. Louis area in scoring leaders after scoring 9 goals in two games against Parkway South and St. Joseph’s. Her 10 points consisting of 9 goals and 1 assist helped lead the team to victories in both games.

Courtney Williams – Nerinx Track & Field – Williams places 1st in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.26 seconds and 400 meter competition with a time of 57.73 in the Festus Early Bird Invitational on March 24.  These times put her in the lead in both races in the St. Louis area.

Miranda Schulte – Freeburg Softball – Schulte leads the St. Louis area in batting average leaders after 3 runs, 1 home run and 5 RBI’s in 5 AB’s in two combined games. Her performance at the plate lead Freeburg to wins on both March 20th against Marissa and on March 22nd against Okawville High School.
