The St. Louis Cardinals announced Monday, a 6-year $26 million extension with SS Paul DeJong.
DeJong finished his rookie season with a .285 average with 25 home runs and 65 RBIs.
“It’s a first-class organization and exactly where I want to be long term,” DeJong said. “I think we’re all pretty happy about this.”
With the extension, the Cardinals have now locked up both of their middle infielders long term. The team extended Kolten Wong’s contract last year.
